Urban planning attempts to respond to the characteristics of the historical ensemble with materiality and siting of the building. The monolithic structure is in the south and east by two concave lines defines the stress the corner of University Street to Rennweg in their intersection. While the side road to the university looks more closed, the side of the building opens to the west by a two storey foyer generously to the place - "Open Space". The structure is derived from the so-enclosed design at the University of road across the open space development at room Rennweg. The concave edge of the building towards the university road is the entrance to the university located there - pointed Innsbruck, Tyrol's Symphonieorchestor, the State Conservatory, the Mozarteum and the library and responds to the confluence of the urban Angerzellgasse.
